✅ Task Management: 🔍 Search by tasks and task groups (PayTask Help)

How the search works

The PayTask system includes a search for tasks and task groups that helps you quickly find needed items in a large list. Search works by names and instruction text, allowing you to find tasks even by partial description.

Search for Workers

Workers can use search via the page Search for tasks. The system searches among tasks and groups available for the selected worker position.

What is searched

  • Task group names — search by group name field
  • Task group instructions — search in the group instruction text
  • Task names — search by task name field
  • Task instructions — search in the task instruction text

Search results

The results display:

  1. Found task groups — with query highlighted in the name and a snippet from the instruction if the query is found in the text
  2. Found tasks — with the group indicated, query highlighted, and a snippet from the instruction

Each result includes a button to navigate to the corresponding task or group on the task execution page.

Search for Employers

Employers can use search via the page Search for tasks and groups in the description editor. Search is performed among all tasks and groups created by the employer.

Additional search fields

For employers, search also includes:

  • "Needs improvement" field — search in notes about required improvements to a task

Search results

Results are displayed as cards with:

  • Group or task name with query highlighted
  • Snippet from the instruction if the query is found in the text
  • Snippet from the "Needs improvement" field if the query is found there
  • Buttons to navigate to edit or view

Search features

  • Case‑insensitive search — you can enter the query in any case
  • Partial word search — the system finds matches even if the query is part of a word
  • Result highlighting — found fragments are colored for convenience
  • Snippets — shows context around the found query (approximately 32 characters before and after)
  • Access control — workers see only tasks available for their position

Tips for use

  • Use keywords from the task name or instruction
  • If you don’t find what you need, try synonyms or a shorter query
  • For employers: use the search in the "Needs improvement" field to quickly locate tasks that need attention
  • Results are sorted by group time and task position within the group
